Aquae Calidae is an ancient city on the territory of Burgas, in the area of present days Mineral Baths. According to historical sources, the first Roman bath here was built during the rule of Emperor Trajan in 2nd century. HISTORICAL EXHIBITION

It is exhibited in a beautiful building, built in 1901 after the design of the Italian architect Riccardo Toscani. The exhibition presents valuable exhibits, related to the history of the city and the region. The political, cultural and economic history of Burgas is presented over there, from ancient times to present days, through texts, photographs, retro interior, original documents and exhibits.

ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXHIBITION

It presents collections of findings related to ancient Thrace, the Greek colonies along the Black Sea Coast and from the Roman Empire ages. Unique exhibits showcase the earliest history of sailing and the ports along the Black Sea. The museum also stores findings from the latest archaeological studies in the region.

ETHNOGRAPHIC EXHIBITION

It is situated in the very heart of the city, in a beautiful house from mid-19th Century, which in itself is a landmark place. The permanent exhibition presents an impressive collection of Bulgarian traditional clothes from all ethnographic groups in the Burgas area, including unique ritual costumes, related to ritual practices and celebrations, typical for the area: nestinarka (walking on fire), kuker, Enyova bulya, lazarka, groom and bride.
